چکیده

The carbohydrates of whole cells of group A, B, C, D, F, and G streptococci were analyzed with a highly sensitive gas chromatographic procedure. Characteristic chromatographic fingerprints were obtained for each group of streptococci grown in broth cultures or as single colonies on a blood agar plate. Rhamnose, glucose, and N-acetylglucosamine were major components of all the groups. Groups A, C, and F contained very little galactose, and groups A and B showed almost a complete absence of N-acetylgalactosamine. Chromatograms obtained for group B streptococci were distinguished by the presence of 1,4-anhydroglucitol.

Functional and Developmental Analysis of CD4+CD25+ Regulatory T Cells under the Influence of Streptococcal M Protein in Rheumatic Heart Disease

The purpose of this study was to determine the role of streptococcal M protein in naturally-occurring CD4+CD25+ regulatory T cells (nTregs) function and development in rheumatic heart disease in Iraqi patients. Streptococcus pyogenes was isolated for subsequent M protein extraction. Also, peripheral blood nTregs and CD4+ T cells were isolated by using Magnetic Cell Separation System. Tissue cul...

Prediction of T-cell epitopes for designing a reverse vaccine against streptococcal bacteria

Streptococcal bacteria are among dangerous human pathogens with major prevalence worldwide. A good vaccine against streptococcal bacteria should have epitopes that confer protection from infection by different streptococcal bacteria types. we aimed was to recognize the most immunogenic and conserved epitopes of streptococcal bacteria, which could be a potential candidate for vaccine development...

Occurrence of 19s and 7s Anti-iggs during Hyperimmunization of Rabbits with Streptococci

All 110 rabbits immunized with Group A, A-variant, and C streptococcal vaccines produced 19S anti-IgG in addition to antibodies to the streptococcal carbohydrates. 19S anti-IgG was detected by hemagglutination of rabbit red blood cells coated with rabbit anti-blood group F antibody. Antisera of 88 of these animals were also tested for 7S anti-IgG with a coprecipitation assay. This assay is base...

Assay of antibody to group A streptococcal carbohydrate by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.

An indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay system for determination of antibody levels to the group A streptococcal cell wall carbohydrate antigen is described. Optimal conditions for antigen preparation, purification, and conjugation to poly-L-lysine for adequate adsorption to the solid phase are presented. Antibody titers of unknown sera were determined by comparison to known reference sta...

Further Studies on the Chemical Basis for Serological Specificity of Group a Streptococcal Carbohydrate

Azoproteins prepared with p-aminophenyl-beta-N-acetyl-glucosaminide react in precipitin tests with Group A streptococcal antisera. The reaction is nonreciprocal, and antisera to the azoprotein do not react with Group A carbohydrate. Phenyl-N-acetyl-glucosaminides inhibit the reaction of Group A carbohydrate with homologous antisera and with antisera to the azoprotein. The beta-anomer is more ef...
